MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- The director of a Myrtle Beach church preschool center has turned herself in for failing to report the behavior of one of her teachers.

Authorities say Brenda Kay Thomas was released on bond Saturday after turning herself in to police. The 54-year-old Thomas is charged with failing to report child abuse or neglect.

Thomas is the director of the Ocean View Baptist Church Teaching and Learning Center. On Thursday, Mary Lynn Boggs was charged with three counts of illegal neglect of a child after parents called to complain that she had harmed their infant daughter.

Police said the 46-year-old Boggs was accused of using excessive force to restrain a girl during nap time.

It wasn't known if either woman had attorneys.
