COLUMBIA (WACH)----  A Columbia man is recovering after he said he was attacked early Sunday morning.

"My jaw is broken in two places and I have titanum plates in it," said Josh Bosworth.

Bosworth said he just finished working when he met a friend in Five Points. That's when he said a group of men approached them and started a fight.

The Columbia man said he told them he wasn't looking for any trouble, but he says he was attacked anyway.

Bosworth says the incident occurred outside of Bey's, a bar on Harden Street in Five Points.

"That's when they all came. I don't really remember anything. I woke up and I was in a big pool of blood. I passed out again and I woke up in the hospital," added Bosworth.

Bosworth is still in shock that this happened on what was supposed to be a fun night out with friends.  He believes they were targeted by a group of men looking to hurt anyone.

"They were just out for blood this time, anybody and everybody is a target," said Bosworth.

A local busineess owner tells WACH Fox that he witnessed the attack and went to get police, but before help arrived, the suspects had fled.

Incidents like this have local business owners on edge.

William Fleming with Pops Pizza says that kind of activity scares away customers.

Fleming added that there is nothing anyone can do; " you can't stop stupidity," the pizza maker added.

As for Bosworth, he's not letting the attack break his spirits.

"It's already happened. Now all you can do is get better," said Bosworth.

Columbia Police have released information on two seperate incidents that occured in the Five Points area the same night that included an assault and a shooting.
