COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The Carolina Gamecocks are up this week in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls.

The Gamecocks moved up to No. 6 in both polls, climbing one notch in the AP poll and two spots in the USA Today/Coaches poll.

The jump came after USC’s 31-10 beatdown of Missouri Saturday. It’s Carolina’s highest AP ranking since the team checked in at No. 6 after beating North Carolina in 2007.

According to the university, it’s the fifth time in school history that Carolina has been ranked sixth or better in the AP poll.

South Carolina will travel to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, September 29. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The Clemson Tigers fell in both polls after losing to Florida State 49- 37 Saturday. Clemson is now ranked No. 17 in the AP poll and No. 16 in the USA Today/Coaches poll.

Clemson will take on Boston College next Saturday.
