COLUMBIA (WACH) - A female was hit by a car in downtown Columbia Monday afternoon, according to Columbia Police Department officials.

Randall Latimer, 20, is accused of hitting the victim with a 1998 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Blossom and Park Streets Monday.

A spokesperson with the department says Latimer is charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and no proof of insurance.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries including cuts to the head area, according to authorities. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
