GREAT FALLS, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 43-year-old Chester County man as he walked home along a highway.

Chester County Deputy Coroner Tommy Williams says London Coleman of Great Falls died at the scene from head injuries. A driver found his body about 6:30 a.m. Saturday and called 911. Authorities believe Coleman was hit about an hour earlier.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver who hit him could be charged with felony hit-and-run.

Troopers say Coleman was walking home along state Highway 99 and was just a few hundred feet away when he was struck.

Coleman's long-time girlfriend Monica Eagle says he leaves behind nine children. They have seven children together, ages 3 to 13.
