COLUMBIA (WACH / AP) – Honor Flight South Carolina, a group that has sent over 2,000 South Carolina World War II veterans to Washington DC for free tours of memorials which honor them is expanding their search for vets.

Bill Dukes, Honor Flights organizer says they are now accepting applications from vets who served in the Korean conflict.  Dukes says they want to provide the flight for as many World War II vets as possible on their November 7 flight, and if there is space still available, the offer will be extended to Korean veterans.

While in Washington, veterans tour the World War II and Korean, Iwo Jima, and Vietnam memorials.  They also stop at Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknowns.

The AP contributed to this report.
