LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- Lexington County deputies have arrested a West Columbia man they say set two fires at an elementary school.

54-year-old Thomas Riley faces arson charges.

Deputies say in one incident, Riley set a plastic garbage can on fire at Pineview Elementary School. In the other incident, he’s accused of starting a fire in a garbage dumpster at the school.

Investigators say one fire was set on July 30 and the second happened Thursday.

Deputies say they also recovered a pair of Riley’s underwear on top of the school’s playground.l
