COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Richland County investigators spent Sunday afternoon looking for missing teenager Gabbiee Swainson.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department CAT team combed through an area in Elgin. A department spokesman confirmed to WACH FOX News  the search was releated to the Swainson case, but wouldn't go into specifics about what they were looking for.

Elvia Swainson says she last saw her daughter Gabbiee asleep in her bed early last Saturday morning.

The single mother reported Gabbiee missing to the Richland County Sheriff's Department and they sent an investigator to the family's Northeast Columbia home.

Monday Sheriff Leon Lott released information and said a preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play, but further investigation into Gabbie's disappearance did not appear to be a typical runaway case.

Meanwhile Gabbiee's family, friends, and concerned community members have worked to raise awareness about the case.

They went door to door in Gabbiee's neighborhood and passed out flyers last week.

Tuesday evening, Gabbiee's church held a prayer vigil, hoping for the teens safe return.

Gabbiee was supposed to start her sophmore year at Ridgeview High School Thursday and she had also recently earned a spot on the school's JV cheerleading team.

Friday, the sheriff's department announced it's working with state and federal law enforcement, along with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Sheriff Leon Lott said an anonymous community member donated $2,500 in reward money for information leading to Swainson. His department matched that amount. Along with the $1,000 already being offered by CrimeStoppers, that brings the total reward money to $6,000.

If you have any information on where Gabiee Swainson is please call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
