Police investigating afternoon shooting in Columbia

COLUMBIA (WACH) - Columbia police  have arrested a 16-year-old juvenile in connection with a Thursday afternoon shooting in North Columbia.

Officers arrested the teen shortly after the shooting at Hyatt Park Elementary School on Lorick Avenue.

Investigators say the teen and another suspect forced their way inside a home on Mount Vernon Street and shot the victim in the head area.

The victim reportedly didn't have any clothes on and ran after the suspects when they ran away.

The victim was taken to a hospital where at last check he was still being treated for his injuries.

Police are now working to identify the second suspect and determine a motive in the shooting.
