LUMBERTON, SC (WPDE) -- Marques Ramon Brown, 27, of Whiteville, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with murder Tuesday night in the death of a Lumberton police officer.
Lumberton police say the officer, Jeremiah Goodson, was off-duty Tuesday morning when he spotted Brown at the Express Depo/Dairy Queen on Fayetteville Road and called for backup.
