HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Jasper County authorities have released the names of two Columbia women killed in a wreck on Interstate 95 near Hardeeville.

Authorities say the driver of the car, Frances Brown Dounian and her front-seat passenger, Mary Ann Collins, died at the scene late Friday morning.

Marian Russell of Greer was flown to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga. There was no word on her condition.

Russell is a teacher at J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, as was Collins.

Witnesses said Dounian swerved to avoid debris in the northbound lane and hit a tree. Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls says the women were on their way home after spending the July Fourth holiday at Hilton Head Island.
