MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- For the third year in a row, people along South Carolina beaches will get a special treat on Independence Day.
Military jets plan to fly over the coast Wednesday afternoon in what is called "Salute from the Shore." Five F-16s of the 79th Fighter Squadron, also called "The Flying Tigers," will zoom over every South Carolina beach.
The flight will start at North Myrtle Beach at 1:01 p.m. and finish at Hilton Head Island at 1:29 p.m.
Organizers are asking people on the beaches to wear red, white and blue for a tribute video that will be made during the flyover.
