COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - Richland County Deputies say a woman tried to stop repossession of her vehicle with a kitchen knife.

According to an incident report obtained from The Richland County Sheriff's Department, a man from Big Foot Recovery was attempting to repossess a Jeep Cherokee for failure to make payment.  A woman came from inside an apartment carrying a knife.  The repo-man hooked up the Jeep to the tow truck, but the woman used her knife to cut the straps tethering the vehicle to the tow-truck.

The woman then used the knife to hijack to the tow truck.  As she drove off, the Cherokee rolled off the truck into the apartment complex's parking lot.  The tow truck driver then stopped the Cherokee to keep it from rolling out of control.

The tow truck was found on Parklane Road with around $30,000 in damages.
