COLUMBIA, SC -- The Civil War is coming alive in 3-D at the state museum.
The new Civil War in 3-D exhibit opened up Friday morning. It features rare and never before seen images that jump off the screen.
The latest exhibit is from about 75 stereographs and is about 30 minutes with original soundtrack. It will be at the state museum for the next year.
History Curator Kristina Johnson said it is important to learn the history in a new way.
"The history of the war is really the history of us as an American people and as South Carolinians. Getting a wide understanding makes history feel more alive. We forget that they were real people with real stories just like us. So now we are giving our audiences a chance to see them the way they have always meant to have been seen."
