COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The University of South Carolina's Ernest F. Hollings Library is displaying a number of personal items that belonged to Joseph Heller, author of the classic novel "Catch-22."
University spokeswoman Megan Sexton said Thursday that Heller's wooden desk and lamp, along with his typewriter, are now on display at the library.
The library acquired Heller's archives in 1997. More recent additions include a typed letter signed by Heller, translations of Heller's works and books from his personal library, donated by his wife Valerie.
The exhibit is on display through Dec. 20th in the Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections section. The library on the Columbia campus is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
