COLUMBIA S.C. (WACH) – Another week of declining gas prices brings the average price for a gallon of gas in the Midlands $3.13 on Sunday. Local prices have fallen 5.8 cents, and 4.5 cents nationally, bringing the national average $3.61, according to ColumbiaGasPrices.com.
The price of a gallon of gas is, on average, 32.7 cents cheaper than it was a year ago, and 34.2 cents lower than a month ago.
"An impressive decline in average gasoline prices will now be extended as the West Coast begins to see lower prices in the days ahead," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "Also pushing down oil prices last week was a frightening jobs report, as well as continued concerns about European debt problems," DeHaan said.
