Columbia,SC(WACH)- The Richland County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of Dedjuan Gilmore,18, and a male juvenile for burglary. Sheriff Leon Lott states that it was the quick thinking action of a vigilant citizen who alerted law enforcement. Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene in a matter of moments to apprehend the suspects.  

Sheriff Leon Lott said deputies were called  after someone saw a burglary in progress on Frandal Avenue on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival deputies found that the suspects gained entry through the back door and heard movement inside. The deputies entered the residence and located the two suspects hiding inside the bathroom. Gilmore and the juvenile were arrested at the scene.

Deputies were able to recover the following stolen items from the suspects: a gold necklace, two gold rings, earrings, gold bracelet, and a MP3 player.


Gilmore was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
