A West Columbia woman is dead after a Wednesday evening collision.
CAYCE, SC (WACH) - A West Columbia woman is dead after a Wednesday evening collision.
According to Coroner Harry O. Harman, Melissa H. Patterson, 43, collided with a tractor trailer that was making a left hand turn onto Charleston Highway from the I-26 exit ramp.
Authorities say Patterson was driving a 2005 Ford Focus southbound on Charleston Highway before the crash. The Focus struck the rear tandems of the trailer.
Patterson was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
The incident remains under investigation.
