ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) – An Orangeburg County man faces Attempted Murder charges for shooting at a mother of two.
Jermain Eric Halmon is accused on two counts of Murder/Attempted Murder. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says Halmon shot at a male and female victim. Halmon asked the female victim to use her vehicle. When she refused, Halmon damaged her television. As the female victim was trying to leave with her children, Halmon refused. The female victim left the residence and returned with the male victim. The male victim requested Halmon release the children. Halmon allowed 2 children to leave and shut the door to the residence but when he reopened the door, Halmon had a shotgun and fired shots at both victims. Officers attempted to get Halmon out of the house by talking on their patrol vehicle’s loud speaker but Halmon did not exit. The SWAT team was sent and Halmon came out of the house without further incident, No one was injured
A spokesperson with the OCSO says Halmon was living with the female victim. His bond was denied.
