GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a Gaffney man has been shot to death by a family member after an argument.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said 23-year-old Jonathan Phillips died less than an hour after he was shot around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Fowler says a passing motorist saw Phillips run out of a house and collapse. The motorist called 911 and performed CPR.

Gaffney Police took someone into custody after the shooting, but have not released the person's name or whether they have been charged. Police also haven't released any information about what led to the shooting.
