COLUMBIA, SC -- The South Carolina NAACP announced the 2012 Freedom Fund Campaign Friday.
The 33rd consecutive fundraiser will be May 17 at 5:30 p.m. It will be at the Columbia Convention Center. It will honor several members in the community contributing to human and civil rights.
President Lonnie Randolph Jr. said it is important to recognize people in the community.
"The NAACP is the only organization in this country that has committed its livelihood and its mission is ensuring that equal opportunity is available to every citizen."
