GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say the shooting death of an 11-year-old Greenville boy last week was an accident.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill says Davius Boyd was shot with a 9mm handgun Saturday afternoon while playing with friends near his home. The coroner's office has ruled the death an accident.

Prosecutors say there is not enough evidence to support any criminal charges.

Police say a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old were at home after their parents left. Police say the 12-year-old and Davius were in the parent's bedroom.

Investigators say the 12-year-old was trying to retrieve money from under a mattress and found the gun. Police say the gun appeared to be jammed and then fired, hitting Davius in the neck.
