COLUMBIA (WACH) - A man who was recently arrested for stealing a vehicle at gunpoint has also been arrested for armed robbery.

Savoyy Luvme Woodard, 18, was arrested Tuesday after investigators with the Richland County Sheriff's Department received information on his involvement in an assault and robbery.

Sheriff Leon Lott says Woodard is accused of pointing a gun at the head of a woman retrieving money from an ATM on Garners Ferry Road around 11:45 p.m. on March 15. He is also accused of grabbing the woman's left hand.

The victim said she stepped on the gas pedal and left the ATM. She went to the hospital because of pain in her hand and was diagnosed with two fractured fingers.

Woodard has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and armed robbery.

It was reported by the department that another armed robbery occured around 9:48 p.m. in a party shop parking lot on March 15, but Woodard has not been tied to that robbery at this point.

Woodard was also arrested April 6 for carjacking a man at gunpoint. He was cited for reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident on private property. Woodard caused approximately $3,500 in damage to the stolen vehicle.

Lott says Woodard is in custody at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
