SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A Boiling Springs man has pleaded guilty to a series of indecent exposure incidents near the University of South Carolina Upstate.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kevin Allen Parker pleaded guilty but mentally ill to 13 charges Wednesday. Parker was charged with eight counts of indecent exposure, three counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of assault and battery.

Parker is the son of Boiling Springs Rep. Steve Parker.

Kevin Parker was sentenced to time served plus five years of probation. He had been in jail since November 2010.

Circuit Judge Alison Lee delayed a decision on whether to place Parker on the sex offender registry.

Parker has apologized to the victims.

Defense attorney John Delgado says his client will undergo extensive psychiatric therapy and must abide by the conditions of probation.
