MARINE CORPS AIR STATION BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Marine Corps F/A-18 jets from the air station at Beaufort are going to be making some noisy takeoffs and landings.

Marine Corps spokesman Lance Cpl. R.J. Driver says there will be numerous flights over the next several days through Sunday. Driver says the flights will take place at different times each day from morning until late evening.

The increased noise is due to the fact the units must practice for sudden landings on an aircraft carrier at sea.

Driver says the practice is to prepare squadrons for an upcoming deployment.
