COLUMBIA,SC (WACH) -- The Historic Columbia Speedway received a visit from some familiar faces who used to race the track.
It used to be the Columbia Speedway and it was a running race track for many NASCAR legends in the 50's, 60's, and some of the 70's.
The speedway held the first NASCAR night race under lights.
Many NASCAR drivers came to the reunion Saturday to meet with fans and sign autographs. They also had a chance to reminisce with one another.
NASCAR Champion Rex White was there to sign autographs and said he at 81 years old he is the oldest NASCAR champion.
"It's good to get together and tell stories sign autographs meet everybody, people that I've seen years ago, people that I have never met before and all of that," said White.
He recalled winning two nationals at the Columbia track and how it used to be dirt and not paved.
NASCAR legend Marvin Panch also remembered racing at the track 6 times.
During Saturday's event 23 year old NASCAR driver Danny Efland attended the reunion to meet some of the veterans.
Although they raced way before his time he knew many of the big names through his father who has raced since he was 16.
"It's kind of cool just comparing, what I've heard from my dad stories about racing these tracks, and then talking to these guys some of the greatest drivers of the time,"said Effland.
