COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) – SCE&G’s public parks on the Lexington and Irmo sides of the dam at Lake Murray open Wednesday for the 2012 season.
The boat-launching park on the Irmo side will remain open through Labor Day. The beach and recreation area on the Lexington side will remain open through Sept. 14.
Operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. until May 4, after which the park will stay open until 8 p.m. Weekend and holiday hours are from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Parking fees are charged during normal operating hours to partially offset the cost of maintenance, security and improvements at the parks.
Fees for motorcycles are $2. Car and truck fees are $3. The fee for buses is $5. Season passes can be purchased for $45 per vehicle.
The public boat launch has two ramps and is open 24 hours a day. Restrooms and picnic facilities are available.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
