Here is your Good Day Columbia GDC Morning WACH for 3-25-2012
It was a busy morning on Good Day, what with all the weekend events we wanted to recap and share, people winning diamonds, proposals live on the air, and of course, the conversation and debate about a change in the so called “stand your ground” law in South Carolina, in the wake of the Florida shooting of a 17-year-old boy.
The second annual Carolina Diamond Dash was Saturday morning, where a couple hundred teams, with smart phones in hand, raced around the city collecting clues, all in search of a $12,000 dollar ring.
In the end, the winners were 21-year-old Josh Butler and 20-year-old Emily McDonnell. The pair have been dating for a year, and yet to be engaged…so, in classic Good Day fashion, Tyler asked him to ask her on the air…and HE DID! Check it out HERE.
On the Get Fit/Stay Fit segment, Christy Seguin shared with us the secret to the perfect lunge. When done properly, the lunge can be one of the best exercises for your legs and lower back. Check out her tips HERE.
Etiquette and behavior expert Gerald Glascock spoke to road rage, and why it simply isn’t good behavior to jump ugly with fellow motorists. You can check it out HERE.
In our Facebook story of the day, we had an update on the Miller case from Florida, and examined the impact across the country, as states review their own self defense laws.
South Carolina State Representative Bakari Sellers joined us on the program to talk about his motivation for wanting to change the South Carolina law that has been in effect since 2005. You can hear what he hopes to accomplish with a chance to the law HERE.
Lexington Senator Ronnie Cromer also joined us this morning to talk about a potential change to the self defense law in South Carolina. You can see why he is opposed to any change HERE.
As always, GDC is looking for your input! Please send story ideas, if you are in looking for exposure for a community event you are involved with, or would like a cast member to speak at your civic group, school, or activity, EMAIL us! We are part of the community!!
