COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Eleven school children from around South Carolina are competing for a chance to perform on television.

South Carolina Future Minds has announced that 11 students are finalists in this year's "This School's Got Talent" search.

Celebrity judges from Grammy-award winning band Hootie and the Blowfish helped pick the top entries.

The winner will perform live in May at the televised "South Carolina Teacher of the Year Celebration." The winner is also being invited to perform with members of Hootie at the opening concert for the BMW Charity Pro-Am on May 18 in Greenville.

Each finalist has a video posted on the South Carolina Future Minds Facebook page. People can vote once a day through April 1.
