COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Amir Jennings hasn’t been seen since late November, but his family and the community aren’t giving up hope that the toddler will be found alive.

Family members and concerned citizens held a vigil Sunday evening at Martin Luther King Park to raise awareness about the case.

“He’s become a part of our hearts,” said vigil organizer Kimberly Kite. “We put him to bed after putting our kids to bed. We tell him goodnight. We tell him we love him. We send him prayers, hugs and kisses.”

18-month old Amir Jennings was last seen around Thanksgiving of last year. His mother, Zinah Jennings, has been in jail since late December. She’s charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
