Surveillance videos lead to arrests in Columbia burglaries

COLUMBIA (WACH) - Two men accused of breaking into multiple Columbia businesses and stealing electronics have been arrested, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announced today the arrests of Kenneth Bernard Williams, 48, and Terrance Donte Wentz, 34. Both men were seen on surveillance video either during or after the alleged crimes.

Williams allegedly broke into the Free Times office on Main Street on Feb. 26 and stole more than $2,700 worth of electronics. Additionally, Williams is accused of stealing a laptop from the Atlanta Bread Company on Main Street and stealing large padlocks from PPC Incorporated on Washington Street on Feb. 27.

Williams has been charged with burglary and grand larceny.

Wentz is accused of breaking a window at the Columbia Museum of Art to steal a laptop on Feb. 22. He has been charged with burglary and petit larceny.

Investigators with the Columbia Police Department are looking for a man seen with Wentz after the alleged crime occured.

The suspect was captured on video trying to cover up one of the surveillance cameras.
