Pedestrian identified in deadly Gaston incident

GASTON, S.C. (WACH) - The identity of a pedestrian who was killed after being struck by several vehicles last Thursday in Gaston has been released.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the death of 37-year-old Christopher Hallas.

Hallas was reportedly struck by several vehicles after he stepped into the roadway at 5197 Highway 321 in Gaston around 8:50 p.m. last Thursday.

The pedestrian was flown by LifeNet to Palmetto Health Richland, where he died on March 5 from the injuries he received.

The accident remains under investigation.
