COLUMBIA (WACH) - Two women wearing only minimal underwear and body paint protested the use of animal skins in front of a Columbia fur store Tuesday.

The naked People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals supporters painted their bodies to resemble foxes and held signs that read, "Animals Are Not Ours to Wear."

"Shoppers can find faux fur, divinyl pleather, and lots of stylish alternatives to animal skins in just about every clothing store in the city," said PETA "fox" Tracy Patton. "We're asking people to cross fur, leather, and other animal skins off their shopping lists and leave them the only place where they belong—on the backs of their original owners."

The risque protest took place in front of Ritter Furs on the corner of Gervais and Bull Streets in Columbia.

This is the second naked protest held in Columbia by PETA in six months.

Last August, the controversial animal rights group put an enclosed shower in Five Points where two female protestors washed their bodies to support animal rights.
