COLUMBIA,SC(WACH) -- C.A. Johnson High School is getting a new program that helps students successfully prepare for a career in healthcare.

The Health Sciences Magnet will prepare students with furthering their education after high school and provide opportunities for hands on experiences.

During a signing ceremony for Monday partners, students, and administrators spoke about the program.

The school has partnered with Midlands colleges, universities, two hospitals, the United Way, and other organizations.

Through the partnerships, students will have access to internships, research opportunities, and mentoring.

The program will assist students in career planning and dual-credit college courses.

This program is open to all Richland One high school students who meet requirements, however students within the attendance zone of C.A. Johnson are guaranteed spots.
