COLUMBIA (WACH) - AMC Theatres across the nation will conclude the Best Picture Showcase event this Saturday, which is the day before the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
The Best Picture Showcase for 2012 Oscar Nominees is an opportunity for movie lovers to see all of the Best Picture nominees in two, one-day visits.
Patrons receive a gift card for concessions purchases and a theatre-sized commemorative poster with artwork from the nine nominees for each day they attend the event.
The event kicked off last Saturday with War Horse, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, and The Descendants.
Hugo, The Help, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Artist, and Midnight in Paris will wrap up the event this Saturday.
The AMC Theatre at Dutch Square in Columbia is one of the particpating theatres.
It is the first time the theatre has hosted the event since 2009.
The first film, Hugo, will begin Saturday at 11 a.m.
The all-day event is set to end around 10:45 p.m.
