CHARLESTON (WACH / AP)—Police in Charleston are getting some help with much needed funds for extra programs.  Charleston Mayor Joe Riley and Police Chief Gregory Mullen have partnered with the non-profit Coastal Community Foundation

The money from the fund will help augment and improve officer training and development, and purchase equipment that would not be available otherwise, due to budget limitations.

Since 1974, the Coastal Community Foundation has been serving the Low Country, and now administers 570 funds and has $150 million in assets, working with 8 counties.
