RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Richland County deputies say a suspected drug dealer's family attacked officers Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 4500 block of Bluff Road, in the Starlight community.

According to authorities, one of the relatives tried to stab a deputy with a screwdriver, which allowed the suspect to escape.

Authorities arrested three people at the scene.

The suspect, Warren Spruill Jr., was arrested just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Spruil faces several charges including assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.
