West Columbia, S.C. (WACH) – The West Columbia Police Department is investigating a meth lab found within the city today. Officers were following up on arrests made yesterday in reference to thefts from a local Laundromat. West Columbia Police Chief Dennis Tyndall said investigators charged three people with breaking into coin machines at Mable’s Laundry located at 2214 Platt Springs Road. The thefts occurred during the early morning hours on January 19th, 23rd and 31st.
A search warrant was conducted on a storage building leased by one of the subjects. The storage unit was located at 1648 Airport Blvd. Upon entry into the storage building, officers detected a chemical odor and found items used to make methamphetamine. West Columbia Police Department, with the assistance of Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Cayce DPS, were able to secured the scene and removed the chemicals.
Arrested in the case were Danny Ray Suggs,36, of West Columbia, Michael William Meetze,29, of Lexington, and Christina Annette Bryant,21, of Gaston. Bryant was charged with one count of petit larceny and one count of malicious damage of property. Meetze was charged with one count of petit larceny. Suggs was charged with three counts of petit larceny and three counts of malicious damage to property. Charges are pending at this time for the meth lab. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
