   ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- An Orangeburg-based U.S. Army Reserve unit is heading for training in California in advance of a deployment to Afghanistan in the spring.
   The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported  the 414th Transportation Company was leaving Thursday for Fort Hunter Liggett for the 21-day training mission.
   Capt. Rosalyn Hood says the soldiers will get physical, weapons and land navigation training. Hood would not say exactly how many soldiers are in the unit, but a company can include anywhere from 80 to 225 soldiers.
   During past deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, the unit has transported materials, meals and equipment.
   The unit will also train in Fort Bliss, Texas, next month before their overseas deployment.
