Columbia (WACH) - Rain and a tornado watch are not enough to dissuade voters from casting a ballot in Saturday's presidential preference primary.

A poll worker at Dreher High School in Columbia says she was "pleasantly surprised" that 250 people voted at her precinct by noon time.  The polls are open until 7:00 PM.

Precinct officials at the nearby Shandon Fire Station say more than 100 people voted in a six hour span.
