CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP/WACH) -- A Charleston County emergency medical technician has been arrested and accused of fondling a female patient during an ambulance ride to a hospital last year.

Mount Pleasant police on Thursday charged 45-year-old Anthony Green of Goose Creek with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Capt. Stan Gragg says Green is accused of inappropriately touching a woman in an ambulance taking her from Mount Pleasant to Roper Hospital in Charleston.

Green was suspended without pay Thursday.

Charleston County spokeswoman Tracey Amick says Green had been on administrative duty since the reported assault June 10.

Amick says Green had worked for the county since 1999.

It was not clear if Green has a lawyer.
