Lexington County, SC (WACH) - A fatal accident invovling a West Columbia woman occured near Leaphart Road early Thursday morning.
According to Coroner Harry O. Harman, Sheila H. Casserly, 40, was driving south on Chris Drive near Leaphart Road when she lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway, and struck a tree.
Casserly, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries she received in the accident.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
