BMW set to make announcement at SC facility

GREER, S.C. (AP) -- Officials with BMW are marking a milestone at the company's South Carolina facility with a scheduled announcement.

The German automaker says it's making an economic development announcement on Thursday at its Assembly North location in Greer.

In August, BMW announced it would add 100 new jobs at its South Carolina plant and ramp up production, shifting to a six-day work week. BMW has said it expects to increase production by 11 percent to 300,000 vehicles this year.
