COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A convicted child molester who assaulted boys in Columbia for decades is getting ready for another parole hearing.

The State newspaper in Columbia reports that 55-year-old Chuck Sullivan will ask for early release from prison on Jan. 11.

The former high school coach has already been denied parole several times.

Sullivan was sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty in 1998 to 32 charges.

Prosecutors say he fondled, molested and took pornographic pictures of children between the ages of 10 and 16 for about 20 years starting in the mid-1970s.

Under sentencing laws at the time, Sullivan will complete his prison term in September 2015.

Sullivan taught at Cardinal Newman High School and St. Joseph's Catholic School in Columbia and also volunteered to work with children.
