Chapin Woman arrested for embezzling more than $2 million

Irmo,SC(WACH)- The Irmo Police Department arrested a Chapin woman and charged her with stealing more than $2,000,000.

Chandra Padgett,43,of Chapin was employed as the office manager for Advanced Pain Therapies located on Broad River Road in Irmo and is accused of stealing the money between January of 2010 and December of 2011. 

Irmo Police say Padgett used the money for taking vacations and paying her personal credit card bills.  The medical practice has obtained an injunction freezing Padgett’s accounts. 
 

Padgett is currently located in the Alvin S. Glenn detention center awaiting a bond hearing.  She has been charged with Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent over $10,000.00 which is a felony punishable by not more than 10 years in prison.
