KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WACH)-- An alleged fugitive running from authorities was arrested in Richland County by the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office and United States Marshals following a high speed chase on Interstate 20.

On December 1st Deputy US Marshals located and approached 35 year old Marvin Montgomery in Kershaw County.

Montgomery then fled to his car and raced towards Richland County in a high speed chase with Deputies and US Marshals.

As the chase entered Richland County Montgomery rammed a Kershaw County patrol car, that deputy then forced the fugitive off the road.

Montgomery was wanted in New Jersey on  charges of assault on a police officer, aggravated assault, violation of parole, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property.

He now faces new charges resulting from Thursday's chase; assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension

Montgomery is currently in the Kershaw County Detention Center.
