The mild temps that we`ve enjoyed over the last several days will come to an end tonight. A cold front is positioned to move through the Midlands tonight bringing a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms ahead of it.

Although the threat is minimal, it`s been a while since we`ve had any kind of severe weather in the Midlands. Ahead of the storm chances, you can expected a windy day. A LAKE WIND ADVISORY will be in effect from Noon today through 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Regarding the severe potential, our main threat in the Midlands is strong winds with any thunderstorms that develop. Again, the risk is slight but we want everyone to be aware that there is a chance for these storms today.
