KNOXVILLE, TN-- Gamecocks quarterback Connor Shaw threw for a touchdown and ran for another to help the 14th ranked Gamecocks take down Tennessee 14-3 Saturday night.

The Gamecocks (7-1, 5-1 SEC) played their first game without star running back Marcus Lattimore.  Freshman Brandon Wilds took the place of Lattimore and rushed for 137 yards on 28 carries.

Carolina took a 7-3 lead on a 23 yard touchdown pass from Shaw to Rory Anderson.  The Gamecocks seemingly ended the game on a 20 play, 98 yard drive in the 3rd quarter that was capped off when Shaw found the end zone from five yards out.

The Gamecocks control their own destiny in the SEC Eastern Division and will travel to Arkansas next Saturday.
