COLUMBIA (WACH)-- Columbia law firm Rogers Townsend & Thomas is giving back to the community, by donating $30,000 to three area charities.

The firm donated $10,000 to The Cooperative Ministry for its Emergency Assistance Fund. The fund helps the working poor by providing essentials like food, clothing, transportation, and more.

Rogers Townsend gave $10,000 to Senior Resources, Inc. The money will help sustain the Meals on Wheels program that serves 550 seniors throughout the Midlands.

The firm gave another $10,000 gift to the Columbia Family Shelter to replace roofs, and to help with needed repairs to the family kitchen and dining area.

“We recognize the need that exists in the community and the budget cuts that these non-profits face,” said Carol Cummings, managing director of Rogers Townsend & Thomas. “Our goal is to help fill those gaps in a tangible way and try to make a difference.”
