COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Former CBS and NBC broadcast journalist Marvin Kalb is speaking at the University of South Carolina on the role Vietnam has played in U.S. foreign policy.
Kalb's address Monday is being sponsored by the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies.
His talk will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in Lumpkin Auditorium on the eighth floor of the Darla Moore School of Business. The event is free and open to the public.
Kalb's latest book is about the legacy of Vietnam and its effect on the U.S. presidency.
After 30 years in journalism, Kalb is the Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice emeritus at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. He is also the founding director of the Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.
Kalb delivered the University of South Carolina’s commencement address in December 2003, his daughter Dr. Judith Kalb is a professor at USC.
